Our Story

Arthur and I met at the University of Washington Seattle campus near the end of my freshman year. It was just another day and I was walking back from class to my dorm with my friend, Esther. Arthur happened to be walking in the opposite direction and Esther excitedly greeted him. She had not seen him since he helped move her into her dorm room as a “move-in” volunteer.

She introduced the two of us and he managed to follow up on the meeting later, inviting us to go to what his blind friend Zach called a “bird sanctuary.” Esther, as fate would have it, was not available for this outing, so it was just Arthur and I. During that blistering afternoon we discovered that the “bird sanctuary” was really the “Union Bay Nature Area” behind the UW, we talked for four hours, and Arthur managed to get a massive sunburn on the front half of his legs because he wasn’t wearing sunblock (I was).

We officially started dating 6/6/06. Also, as fate would have it, our birthdays are April 6th and May 6th. No, we are not superstitious, we just believe that 6 is a special number for us. Therefore, we have decided to have our wedding on yet another 6th. That date is November 6, 2010.
